Fostering transdisciplinary research for inclusive and sustainable development

The NSF Director General, Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe was invited as the guest of honur of the research symposium organized by the Sri Lanka College of State Scientists jointly with the Ministry of Public Administration which was held from 29 - 30th August 2024, Colombo Sri Lanka.

The NSF DG delivering the keynote address emphasized the urgent need for working collectively across disciplines and society for transformation towards more inclusive and sustainable development. Further, she stated that addressing “wicked” socio-ecological problems necessitate the integration of knowledge and methods from multiple disciplines as transdisciplinary research approach can provide a systematic, comprehensive theoretical framework in defining and analysis of the social, economic, political, environmental, and institutional factors influencing human well-being.
