Science for Sustainable Development

Background:

Achieving sustainable development is a core task of global governance and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Global change has become one of the greatest challenges facing human sustainable development.

To implement a more open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial international scientific cooperation strategy, promote the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and build a community with a shared future for mankind, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is widely collaborating with international scientific organizations and research funding agencies to launch the "Sustainable Development International Cooperation Science Program" (hereinafter referred to as SDIC). This program aims to promote bilateral and multilateral international exchanges and cooperation among researchers worldwide to jointly address global scientific challenges. So far, 59 joint research projects are supported.


Objectives:

The side meeting aims to promote and boost the bilateral and multilateral international exchanges and cooperation among PIs and key researchers who are supported by the SDIC Program, and summarize the lessons learned and achievements made under the international cooperation


Agenda of the side event and the Intended speakers:

To invite key policy makers and several PIs of the SDIC Program as the key note speakers to introduce their projects, and organize the panel discussion between the funders and the researchers for the better international exchanges and cooperation among researchers worldwide.
